The best part of taking a holiday is coming home........to a lovely surprise waiting for me in the garden !
Now I have an ID for this attractive bulbous plant (posted 29th November 2010) ! After surfing around the internet, I think this plant is the Crinum Jagus or St Christopher's Lily ! Well I have to inform my friend who gave me this plant that it does bloom after all and what gorgeous blooms indeed !The flowers are large and being snowy white they are definitely very striking! I failed to detect any fragrance though but then I am having a bit of a flu......

Apparently the St Christopher's Lily is a member of the Amaryllidaceae family. I guess these bulb plants do not bloom profusely and will bloom at their own leisure. Now I am looking forward to see the other two plants which I potted to flower as well !
The Natal Plum or Carissa fruit has turned a nice wonderful plum color.....it looks really yummy, doesn't it? It is indeed interesting to follow the progress of growth and changes of plants.
Well, after being away for almost 3 weeks the garden does need a lot of weeding and most of the plants need some some pruning - so back to work, haiz... !
Update : I took a sniff of the flowers in the evening.... the fragrance is soft and gentle, it is really nice !

Hi Giga...nice to hear from you. Hope it is not too cold in Poland...but with Spring the plants will be showing signs of growth, right?
Hi Pin, yes, it is wonderful to come home...and it has been raining, so it is coolish and nice, but I have a lot of gardening work to do....! I rearrange the potted plants before I left, now I have to arrange them back... haha! LY took great care of the plants while we were gone !
